Fees and Credit Policy

East Central Mississippi Health Care Inc. (ECMHCI)’s fees/charges are based on the amount of time spent with you and the degree of medical difficulty that your particular visit requires. Other services such as laboratory tests or x-rays are additional charges to your office visit fee. The fee structure at East Central Mississippi Health Care Inc. (ECMHCI) is comparable to other medical and dental offices in the area. All co-pays are collected prior to being seen by the provider and as other charges may apply for your visit, payment is required for all services on the date of the visit.

Adjusted Fee Scale

The policy of East Central Mississippi Health Care Inc. (ECMHCI) is to ensure that no patient is denied services due to an inability to pay; however, to make the best use of available funds, we must ensure that full payment is rendered by all who have sufficient means to pay and that any possible third party resources are investigated and exhausted prior to application of the sliding scale discounts. Once a patient is approved according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines, patients will pay the approved minimum co-pay at the time of registration and any additional fees for services rendered on the date of service according to their approved Sliding Fee rate.

If medical bills are a hardship for you, you may want to apply for the Sliding Fee program. In order to qualify you must provide proof of income, household size, and insurance coverage. For further details, ask our receptionist for any information sheet or call any of our locations for additional information.

Patient Rights

All patients have the right to choose his/her Primary Care Provider (PCP), or to change his/her Primary Care Provider (PCP) as desired within the Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH). ECMHCI respects the patient’s right to obtain care from another provider, seek a second opinion from another provider or seek specialty care.
All patients have the right to accessible, impartial, considerate, and respectful care within the capacity of the facility, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, national origin, or source of payment.
All patients have the right to receive the necessary information to make decisions regarding care. Information shall include, at a minimum, an explanation of specific procedures or treatment, its value and significant risk, as well as, alternatives to treatment including non-treatment of the condition.
All patients have the right to receive information that is relative to his/her age, language, and ability to understand.
All patients have the right to receive interpretive or translation services when necessary.
All patients have the right to refuse any procedure or treatment.
All patients have the right to be informed of and to refuse to participate in research.
All patients have the right to privacy and confidentiality of all records pertaining to treatment, except necessary requests for referral of care, third party payment contracts, and situations otherwise provided by law.
All patients have the right to be informed of the identity, title, and qualifications of the individuals providing care/service to them.
All patients have the right to receive from his/her provider complete and current information concerning diagnosis, treatment, and known prognosis in terms the patient and/or their family/care-giver can understand.
All patients have the right to family involvement in their care and decision making, as desired.
All patients have the right to expect a reasonably safe and comfortable environment of care. Our facilities are smoke-free. This includes protection from abuse, neglect, or exploitation within the organization and the right to report any allegations to management for investigation.
All patients have the right to examine and receive an explanation of his/her bill regardless of source of payment.
All patients have the right to receive prompt and reasonable responses to questions and/or requests for information.
All patients have the right to receive appropriate assessment and management of pain within the scope of the provider.
All patients have the right to be informed of our grievance policy.
All patients have the right to be informed of rules and regulations that apply to his/her conduct as a patient.
All patients have the right to be informed of and consent to any recording or filming for purposes other than identification, diagnosis, or treatment.
